Be careful what you ask for.
For years now I have been asking Igal for a new furnace. Igal has argued that a new furnace is a waste of money as our house leaks like a sieve.
Well today I got my wish.
Direct Energy Gas finally came around today to do the furnace inspection and cleaning and they told Igal that our 40+ year old monster has to go.
While I do wish that the monster had decided to die oh.. say three weeks ago while the weather was plus six, I have to admit that I did a little happy dance upon hearing of the demise of the old Beast.
The new furnace is sitting down stairs next to the old one. Tomorrow the nice furnace man (One of Igals contractors and not the fuckers from Direct Energy) will come and install the nice new furnace, and take the old one in to a field and shoot it.
The house is being remarkably well heated by one space heater on the first floor one heater on the second floor and two heaters in the basement.
The cats are purring in front of the space heater in the living room
Life is good
