UTERUS! Its an organ! Get over it!
I have a major surgery coming up and I am frankly befuddled by the way people are treating me right now.
I am having a hysterectomy. It is considered a major surgery. A low risk, but non the less major surgery.
I have one friend who’s husband makes a big show getting up and running out of the room every time I mention my surgery or the reasons for it. I don’t talk about these things in gruesome terms, so I really don’t see what the deal is. His wife has a uterus. One day she too might have to go through something similar. You would think that he might want to learn about this shit.
People acknowledge that I am having a surgery and quickly change the subject. It seems that anything connected to the vagina is some how tainted or dirty.
Are we in the dark ages?
I know for a fact that if I was having a gall bladder surgery this would be the subject of dinner conversation.
Really.
How is a uterus so different from a gall bladder? (aside from the obvious issues of function and physiology)
That rant aside, I would like to thank my step mother, and my chiropractor for stepping up to the plate and letting me vent to them.
Thanks guys.

I'm interested, since I may have to do the same thing in another ten years.
Come by the Salle on Sunday and we'll see how many guys we can scare out of the room with our conversation. ;-)
BA HAHAHAHAH!
You are on sister!
