I find it entirely ironic that I am writing this post while sitting in a starbucks cafe.

It is looking very much like the Starbucks that I work at is going get closed. I have twice now walked into other stores, told the staff where I worked and had them say: "Isn't your store being shut down?" I have spoken to the manager, and she says that they are in discussion with the land lord trying to get out of the lease.

Could be a few months, could be a few years, but I think it will happen. Which will be a shame really, because I have really grown to like the quirkiness of the area, our regulars and the staff. The new manager is great, and all of the current shift supervisors are really quite cool.

I'm sure I'll get moved to another store, but I am hoping that I will be moved to the same store that my current manager goes too.

We'll see.

In another example of the quirkiness of the neighborhood that my store is in, we have discovered that right across the street from us is a booze can.

We're all assuming its a booze can anyway. At Seven in the morning I see very drunk (or stoned) people staggering out of the place. The music is so loud I can hear it across the street. Our weekend mornings are generally very boring so this has added some entertainment value.
